After completing my first serious research experience in the summer of 2022 as a high school research intern in Dr. Kenichi Okamoto's neurobiology lab at the Sinai Health System, I felt conflicted between my newfound passion for biological research and the part of me that was gravitating toward computer science and programming. I was not sure how best to organize these interests. At least not until I began seriously considering biomedical engineering as a career trajectory.
Now, as a sophomore in the Software and Biomedical Engineering stream of McMaster University's Integrated Biomedical Engineering and Health Sciences program, I have been able to neatly combine all of my passions. My ultimate goal today is to further explore the applications of software and data science to health-related research and eventual therapeutic development. I continue to seek internships, research experience, and project involvement in engineering, healthcare, and data science roles to fulfill this objective.
As a a winner of numerous national and provincial entrepreneurship-based accolades, I have refined my ideation abilities and learned to communicate my work effectively.
